PHOTOMONTH 2025

I’m delighted to be exhibiting my LOVEHEARTS in the Tin Café, Haggerston as part of PhotoMonth.

For over 5 years I have been photographing the love declarations carved on the trees in Epping Forest, and I now have over a thousand of them. I then colour and print them in various ways, as they remind me of the colourful Loveheart sweets from childhood. The hearts start out perfectly carved by romantic couples but over time the bark starts to heal in unpredictable ways, and what’s left is often as messy as the love affairs themselves.

I have also turned them into street art, bringing the graffiti of the forest into the city, as a nod to the very selfish human desire to leave a mark everywhere we go, often without regard for the consequences.

PRINT PRICES:

Prices are kept LOW as these are test prints and experiments. Some are hand coloured, some are screen prints gone both right and wrong, some are digital prints. Most have charming imperfections just like the artist herself. None of the prints are editioned.
There are more unframed prints at the back of the cafe, just ask to see them.
The frames are very basic, so feel free to buy unframed and get the picture properly framed.
