WORKSHOP: The Speak Easy

12 December @ 2:00 pm 5:00 pm

£95 only 6 spaces

Let’s hide from the cold inside this cosy bar in East London. Our models will take us back in time to a distant past of smoky bars where women drank (gosh!) and intellectuals mixed with criminals. Cinema noir is the look here, with dark shadows, and even darker plots unfolding.

WHO IS IT FOR:

Anyone who would love to get a more cinematic and dramatic feel while creating environmental portraits. It is best to know how to use your camera in M (manual) mode and understand exposure – the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, but it’s not essential as this knowledge develops over time. Grete will be on hand for tips and suggestions, some technical, some artistic. After all, if a photo doesn’t make you feel something, then all the technique in the world can’t make up for it.

WHAT TO BRING:

Camera, and a variety of lenses, especially those with a big aperture that can handle a bit of low light. Kit lens is also ok, we work with what we’ve got. We will provide some lighting too and maybe even some smoke if the venue allows it!
Feel free to bring your own soft filters like Pro Mist or Cinebloom etc, but we also have them on hand for you to try.

WHERE:

Hoxton area, East London. The precise location will be revealed after booking.

TICKETS:

£95. Only 6 spaces for this one so hurry up and book! We have a 2 bookings minimum for going ahead with the event. See our FAQ page for more info.
