WORKSHOP: Godly Affairs
12 November @ 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

We are going full colour spectrum on this one! God’s Own Junkyard is a haven of neon, and we are going to make it glow like a technicolour dreamcoat. Our model will be on hand to add story and context to our shots. We will have the place to ourselves and set up coloured lights to add even more direction and mood to this very exciting place. Think Blade Runner, a hazy downtown Hong Kong kind of feel, that’s what we’re going for.
WHO IS IT FOR:
Anyone who would love to get a more cinematic and dramatic feel while playing with gelled lights as well as wanting to learn a bit more about how to make colours truly glow. It is best to know how to use your camera in M (manual) mode and understand exposure – the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, but it’s not essential as this knowledge develops over time. Grete will be on hand for tips and suggestions, some technical, some artistic. After all, if a photo doesn’t make you feel something, then all the technique in the world can’t make up for it.
WHAT TO BRING:
Camera, and a variety of lenses. Bokeh will look really good here, so bring the lenses with the biggest apertures! 85mm will look spectacular. Kit lenses are also ok if that’s what you’ve got.
Feel free to bring your own soft filters like Pro Mist or Cinebloom etc, but we also have them on hand for you to try. We will be using gelled speedlights to add extra colour to the shots. Let me know if you need to borrow one, we can provide Sony, Canon and Nikon.
